Holds Lockers

Your Holds, on Your Schedule

Why should I use an outdoor Holds Locker? Good question! Holds lockers are available day or night, seven days a week, 24/7, and before or after regular Library hours. Any time you want them, your holds will be waiting for you! The lockers are contactless and simple to use, so you can easily get your items in the most convenient, quick, efficient, and clean way possible.

Here’s how they work:

  1. When placing a hold, you have the option to choose your “Pickup Library.” In that field, select “Waukesha Locker Pickup” from the list.
  2. When the hold becomes available, it will be checked out to your account by a Library staff member.
  3. The Library staff member will then place your checked-out item in one of the Holds Lockers.
  4. You will be notified by email and/or text message when your item is available for pickup.
  5. The email/text message will include a 4-digit code and a QR code. You may use either of those options when picking up your item.
  6. When you come to pick up your item, lift the grey flap covering the screen on the Holds Lockers and enter the 4-digit code or scan the QR code to access your items.
  7. Once the code is entered, or the QR code is scanned, a locker will pop open to reveal your hold.
  8. Grab your hold, close the locker door, and be on your way!

Holds Lockers are currently only available for Waukesha residents.

Please be aware that items are checked out to you when they are placed in the locker. So, picking them up right away gives you more time with the items once you bring them home.

It’s also important to know that items will only be held in our Holds Lockers for three days. If you do not pick them up, they will be removed from the locker and sent to the next person in line or placed back in the collection. This is different from other holds, which are kept for seven days.

The Holds Lockers are located on the west side of the building near the entrance to the accessibility ramp.
