EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
THE POSITION: As part of the Materials Collection team, the person in this position will oversee specific areas of the adult collection to include materials selection, weeding, and cataloging responsibilities. The individual in this position will also work at our busy public service desk, providing reference services, readers’ advisory and excellent customer service to the community.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree in Library Science; knowledge of information resources available from other libraries, the library system and other sources in the community, county and state; understanding of public library policies; knowledge of trends in collection development; knowledge of current cataloging practices; excellent oral and written communication; ability to analyze statistical data and evaluate collections; ability to work independently or as part of a dynamic team; ability to meet the varying needs of a diverse community; the ability to prioritize a varied workload; and a great customer service attitude. Public library experience and intermediate knowledge of Spanish is desirable.
Schedule includes weekdays, evening, and weekend hours.
