The Library seeks a highly motivated, technically savvy, public-service-oriented individual to provide adult reference, readers’ advisory services, adult programming, and collection development to the community
The person in this position will work part-time in a job share program. The program commitment is for a minimum of one year, with the possibility of additional year-long terms.
THE POSITION: The Library is looking for a self-motivated, dedicated professional with a welcoming personality who will work at our busy Reference Desk, plan and conduct adult programs and classes, and assist and instruct library patrons in the use of the online catalog, reference sources, websites, databases, computer programs, e-readers, and technology use.
The Library is looking for a candidate who works well with all kinds of people and understands the transformative value that a library brings to its community.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree in Library Science; knowledge of information resources available from other libraries, the library system and other sources in the community, county and state; understanding of public library policies; knowledge of trends in collection development; excellent oral and written communication; ability to analyze statistical data and evaluate programs; ability to work independently or as part of a dynamic team; ability to meet the varying needs of a diverse community; the ability to prioritize a varied workload; and a great customer service attitude. Public library experience desired.
Schedule includes weekdays, evening and weekend hours.
