Waukesha Public Library seeks a highly motivated individual who is passionate about working with children of all ages, and who has the skills necessary to work in both a public library and school setting.

The individual in this position will have experience working with children and teens, will have knowledge of emerging technology trends and will understand both the needs of the library and the schools.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a unique partnership with the School District of Waukesha. The Library offers a competitive salary and benefit package. The 2018 salary range is $51,402 to a maximum of $69,393 achieved through merit increases.

Waukesha Public Library is seeking a dynamic and creative team member who enjoys working with children and the adults who serve and care for them. The ideal candidate for this position must be dedicated to outstanding customer service, enjoy sharing the love of children’s literature with others and be comfortable using computers and other technology. Responsibilities include program planning and implementation, community outreach, readers’ advisory, reference services and assisting with collection development.

This is an opportunity to work in a beautiful, vibrant children’s space and to be part of an energetic and innovative team. This position requires graduation from a four-year college or university and at least two years of relevant experience. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working with children, knowledge of children’s literature and child development, an interest in emerging technologies, and Spanish language proficiency.
