Finding Your Path with Jessie Garcia Wednesday May 25

“What do I really want to do?” Join Jessie Garcia on Wednesday, May 25, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Waukesha Public Library, as she considers this question and explores how we can discover our path to fulfillment in today’s working world. As Wisconsin’s first female sportscaster, she was often asked “When are you going to ESPN?” Instead, she stepped off the expected path and chose a different goal. This event is part of the Wisconsin Humanities Council’s Working Lives Project: ShopTalk which is a free resource for community groups.

An author reception with books available for purchase and signing will follow the program. Jessie Garcia presently teaches at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Marquette University and is the author of three books:

  • My Life with the Green & Gold: Tales from 20 Years of Sportscasting
  • No Stone Unturned: A Brother and Sister’s Incredible Journey Through the Olympics and Cancer
  • Going for Wisconsin Gold: Stories of our State Olympians (being released fall of 2016)
